Terms of Service
Effective 4 August 2026 · Last updated 4 August 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Xzeiten Ltd (“we”, “us”), a private company limited by shares incorporated in Nigeria under the Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020, registration number RC 9740479, trading as WasteAway, for using the WasteAway app and services in Nigeria. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. The service
WasteAway connects households, estates and businesses with vetted independent waste collectors for scheduled and on-demand waste collection, recyclables buy-back, and estate waste management. Prices shown at booking are computed by our systems and include the service fee and any applicable taxes; the price you confirm is the price you pay.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or older and provide a phone number you control. Keep your login codes to yourself: you are responsible for activity on your account.
- One phone number is one account. We may suspend accounts used for fraud, abuse of collectors, or unlawful waste disposal.
- You can delete your account at any time, in the app or by writing to us: see deleting your account.
3. Bookings, cancellations and no-shows
- A booking is confirmed when payment is received (or cash-on-collection is selected). We dispatch a verified collector to your address at the scheduled window.
- Free cancellation up to 2 hours before the scheduled time. You receive a full refund to your WasteAway wallet.
- Late cancellation or no-show (nobody available / no waste at the address): a fee of up to 40% of the service charge applies to compensate the collector’s wasted trip; the remainder goes back to your wallet. If the failure is on our side (no collector claimed the booking, or the assigned collector did not arrive), the fee is waived and the full amount goes back to your wallet.
- If no collector accepts your booking in time, it expires automatically and the full amount goes back to your wallet.
- Subscription visits are prepaid from your subscription’s escrow. You can skip an upcoming visit up to the cutoff shown in the app, and that visit’s amount is returned to your wallet.
4. Payments, wallet and refunds
- Payments are processed by our licensed payment partner (card, bank transfer, USSD) or from your WasteAway wallet. We never see your full card number.
- A wallet top-up buys WasteAway service credit. The balance pays for pickups and plans and cannot be paid out to a bank account, so top up what you plan to spend.
- Refunds are credited to your wallet. Wallet balances are redeemable against services; they are not a bank deposit and earn no interest.
- We do not currently charge VAT. WasteAway falls within Nigeria’s small-company VAT exemption. If we become required to charge VAT, it will be itemised at checkout before you confirm.
- Because a wallet balance is redeemable against services, we cannot close an account that still holds one: spend it, and then delete. Wallet balances cannot be paid out to a bank account. See deleting your account.
5. Recyclables buy-back
- The estimate you see when requesting a buy-back is based on your declared weights. The verified weight recorded by the collector at pickup (with a scale photo) is what we pay, at the rates in force when the weight is verified.
- Contaminated or misdescribed materials can be rejected at pickup.
- Payouts are credited to your wallet, normally immediately after verification, and pay for your pickups and plans like any other wallet money. Unusually large loads or big estimate mismatches may be held briefly for a manual review before payment.
6. Collectors
Collectors are independent contractors who pass identity verification (including government ID and a guarantor) before working on the network. Collector earnings, cash handling and payouts are governed by the collector agreement presented during onboarding.
7. Estates and organisations
Estate owners/administrators may manage members, units, shared wallets and recurring collections for their community. Administrators are responsible for having authority to register their estate and to add members’ contact details.
8. Acceptable use
- No hazardous, medical or regulated waste may be presented unless it was booked as such and is legal to hand over.
- No harassment of collectors or customers; no attempts to move transactions off-platform to avoid fees.
9. Liability
We provide the platform with reasonable skill and care. To the extent permitted by Nigerian law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the booking concerned. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Disputes
Raise problems with a collection in the app within 3 days of completion. We investigate and can refund to your wallet in full or in part. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; disputes are subject to the courts of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
11. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes are announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms. This version, effective 4 August 2026, replaces the terms of 26 July 2026: it names Xzeiten Ltd (RC 9740479) as the company you are contracting with, where the previous version identified only the WasteAway brand, and it states plainly that we do not currently charge VAT, replacing the earlier statement that VAT was itemised at checkout and remitted by us. The 26 July version, which it keeps, states that a wallet balance, including a buy-back payout, pays for WasteAway services and cannot be paid out to a bank account, and that an account holding a balance is closed by spending it first.
