Every WasteAway price is built from parts you can see: a base price for the waste type, any size, distance and urgency charges, and a 5% service fee. We do not currently charge VAT. The app itemises all of it before you confirm, and the price you confirm is the price you pay.

Lowest price per collection
Plan prices above are for general waste at a medium load (3 to 5 bags) in Abuja, billed monthly. Each monthly total is the price per collection times the collections a month, plus the travel fee on every visit, plus the 5% service fee: for the weekly plan, ₦460.00 x 4 plus ₦200.00 x 4 plus ₦132.00 comes to ₦2,772.00. We do not currently charge VAT. Other waste types and load sizes price differently, and the app shows your exact plan price and savings before you subscribe. You can change your plan, skip a visit or pause for up to 30 days, with any new price and proration shown before you confirm.

Added and itemised. We do not currently charge VAT. Subscription discounts are capped so a pickup’s base-plus-size price never falls below the minimum, and the per-visit travel fee applies to subscription visits, not to one-off pickups, which carry the distance charge instead.
These figures are the app’s current settings and can change as the service evolves. The app always shows your exact, itemised price before you confirm, and that confirmed price is what you pay.
Paying
How you pay, and what the wallet is for
Four ways to pay
Pay for each pickup as you book it, by card, bank transfer or USSD, or choose cash on collection. You can also pay from your in-app wallet, which you top up the same three ways.
The wallet pays for pickups
Money in your WasteAway wallet pays for pickups and plans. It stays in the app: there is no transfer back to a card or bank account, so top up what you plan to spend. Everything credited to the wallet spends the same way: refunds, the money from a skipped subscription visit, referral credit and recyclables buy-back payouts all go towards your next pickups.
Holding a balance is optional
Paying at checkout for each pickup works just as well, so keeping a float in the app is a convenience, never a requirement. A wallet payment does carry escrow protection: the money is held until the pickup is done.
Cancellations and refunds
Changed your mind, or we let you down
One-off pickups: cancel free up to 2 hours before the scheduled time for a full refund to your wallet.
Later cancellations and no-shows carry a fee of up to 40% of the service charge, to cover the collector’s trip. The app shows the exact amount before you confirm a cancellation, and if the miss is ours, no collector claimed the job or the collector did not arrive, the fee is waived.
On a subscription, skip a visit up to 12 hours before the slot and that visit’s money is returned to your wallet.
If no collector claims your pickup in time, it expires and the full amount goes back to your wallet automatically.
Something went wrong? Report it in the app within 3 days and a real person reviews it, with full or partial refunds to your wallet.

You are paid on the weight a collector verifies at pickup with a scale photo, never on a self-declared estimate.
Payouts are priced at the rates in force when your load is weighed and verified, then credited to your wallet, where they pay for your pickups and plans.
The collector’s commission is paid by WasteAway. Nothing is deducted from your payout.
Estates and businesses
Multi-unit plans earn group discounts
Discounts apply per unit as your unit count grows, with central or per-unit billing, and are shown in the app before you confirm a plan.

Estate plans also carry a per-visit gate fee for the collector’s trip, from ₦200 up to ₦1,000 per visit depending on distance. It is charged once per visit and split across all the units served, so the denser the estate, the less it comes to per door.
